OTHER FACILITIES FOR RESEARCH
Research Assistants
The Royal Society employs a team of 8 full-time Research
Assistants at DVFC. This highly trained team has long
experience at the Field Centre and a wide range of practical
research skills. All the research assistants are computer
literate and experienced in the use of specialist software
associated with their particular areas of expertise.

Vehicles
There are 4 vehicles available at DVFC for research use.
-
The Toyota Hi-Lux pick up is available for
use by all researchers.
-
Two Toyota Land Cruiser pick-ups are for
those who need vehicles for extreme off-road use and carrying
heavy loads.
-
The Ford Ranger Turbo twin cab is for those
who intend to make long journeys.
Researchers who intend to use vehicles must
obtain approval from the DVFC Senior Scientist and Project
Manager before driving the vehicles, and must have a valid
driving license. For long journeys they must be driven by a
Research Assistant. Charges for using vehicles are calculated
on a case-to-case basis.
